The climate crisis is the greatest threat facing humanity, and classical music can help avert it. Orchestra for the Earth unites some of the finest young professional musicians and contemporary composers, committed to protecting the world their generation will inherit and using music to motivate others to do the same.
OFE concerts are completely unique. We combine musical performances of the highest calibre with talks, videos, art and photo exhibitions, and more, to connect audiences around the world with music and nature. We believe music can provide a fresh approach to engaging people with environmental crisis, and inspiring them to play their part in averting it.
Music and the environment are inextricably linked, with composers throughout history taking inspiration from the power, beauty, and endless variety of nature. OFE concerts reunite the two, creating a new and special way to hear music that we all love, and to think about the natural world that we all must protect.
Who we work with
OFE is proud to work with some of the world's most important and effective environmental organisations. Each season we organise innovative concerts and events together to fundraise and spread the word about their vital work.
Fund for Nature
The WWF is the world's leading independent organisation in wildlife conservation and endangered species. Their mission is to conserve nature and reduce the most pressing threats to the diversity of life on Earth.
The Grantham Institute is a leading authority on climate and environmental science, working to drive research and translate this knowledge into real-world impact.
World Land Trust
World Land Trust (WLT) is an international conservation charity that protects the world’s most biologically significant and threatened habitats acre by acre. Through a network of partner organisations around the world, WLT funds the creation of reserves and provides permanent protection for habitats and wildlife. .
Eden recreates healthy forest systems that restore hope, alleviate suffering, empower people, and build local economies in impoverished communities. We plant a tree with them for every ticket sold to one of our concerts.
Outreach and Education
Outreach and Education
Central to our combined musical and environmental aims are outreach and education. Climate change will disproportionately affect children and younger generations, so we see it as our duty to reach out to them. We run a whole range of events for children, often taking music out into the great outdoors. These make for a uniquely fun and engaging way to connect with music, the natural world, and climate change.
